REGULATIONS FOR UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

 DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME

THREE years (SIX Semesters) UG programme is offered both in Academic and Calendar year cycle of admissions.

The programme has been divided into two semesters per year. Academic year stream i.e. July to November and December to June. Calendar year stream (i.e.) January to June and July to December.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION

  •     Admission to the First year B.A./B.Com./B.Sc./B.B.A./B.C.A./B.F.A. (Music) Degree courses is open to candidates who have passed any one of the following Examinations:
  •     A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination (+2) (Academic or Vocational Stream)/ Intermediate Examinations/ Pre-degree Examinations/ Pre-University Examinations under the
  •     10+2/11+1/11+2 pattern conducted by Government of Tamil Nadu (or) any other Board / States (or) Union Territories (or) an examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the Syndicate of the University of Madras.
  •     A pass in Plus Two Examinations of the National Institute of Open Schooling [NIOS], New Delhi
  •     Three years Diploma Examinations conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training , Chennai after passing 10th standard Examinations.
  •     Pre-Technical Examination previously conducted after 11 years of study by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Chennai.
  •     A Pass in the G.C.E. (Advanced level / Principal level / without less than 3 subjects in the ‘A’ level with ENGLISH in the ‘O’ level / Subsidiary level.)
  •     The Pre-University Examination conducted previously by the University of Madras or any other University accepted as equivalent thereof by the authorities, University of Madras. The Senior School Certificate Examination (XII  Standard) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education held in 1979 or thereafter provided that they have been declared to have passed the examinations in not less than 5 subjects of which ENGLISH shall be one.
  •     The Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) (12 Years) conducted by the Council for Indian
  •     School Certificate Examination held in 1977 or thereafter, provided that they have been declared to have attained the pass standard in the examinations in not less than 5 subjects of ENGLISH shall be one.
  •     Intermediate Examination (2 years) of Andhra Pradesh, Pre-Degree Examination (2 Years) of Kerala and Pre-University Examination (2 Years) of Karnataka under the 10+2 pattern.
  •    Candidates who have successfully completed 12 or 13 years of education in any State of India or Abroad under 11+1 or 10+2 or 11+2 pattern, subject to approval by the authorities of this University.

 REGULATIONS FOR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

 DURATION OF THE PROGRAMMES
Two years (Four Semesters) PG programmes are offered in both Academic and Calendar year cycle of admissions.

The programme has been divided into two semesters per year. Academic year stream
(i.e.) June to November and December to May. Calendar year stream (i.e.) January to June and July to December
 ELIGIBILITY CONDITION FOR ADMISSION
A Pass in any Undergraduate degree program offered by any College or an University recognized by the UGC (with 15 years duration) under regular pattern 10+2+3/10+3+2/11+1+3/11+2+2, or an examination accepted as equivalent thereof by the Syndicate of the University of Madras; provided they should satisfy the requirement of the concerned branch of study.

1. M.A. Tamil
B.A./B.Lit.Tamil or any UG degree with Foundation Course Part-I Tamil (Paper I, II, III & IV)
2. M.A. English
B.A. English or any UG degree with Foundation Course Part-II English (Paper I, II, III & IV )
3. M.A. Economics
B.A. Economics / Corporate Secretaryship / B. Com / BBA / B.Com (BM) / B.Sc. Mathematics / Statistics or Any UG Social Sciences.
4. M.A. Christian Studies - Any UG Degree
5. M.A. Historical Studies - Any UG Degree
6. M.A. Sociology - Any UG Degree
10. M.A. Public Administration – Any UG Degree
12. M.Com - A Pass in all branches of B.Com degree / B.A. Industrial Organization / BBA/(or) BA Economics (or) B.Sc. Mathematics / Computer Science/ BCA with any two core paper offered in the B. Com degree.
13. M.Sc.Mathematics - B.Sc. Mathematics/ Applied Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry (or) BE/B.Tech with Mathematics

14. M.Sc. Information Technology- Any Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics/ Business statistics/ Mathematical Physics as Main or Allied subject of study

  • Create  ABC Id /deb Id
  • If applicable: Authenticated English translation of certificates (for documents not in English/Tamil) attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Fee & Eligibility

Master of Computer Application (MCA) Fee & Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for Admission for MCA Course:
1.    Candidates must have:
   Passed B.C.A./B.Sc. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree,
  OR passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or as part of their undergraduate curriculum (with an optional bridge course, if applicable).
2.    Attendance Requirements:
    A minimum of 50% attendance in theory classes is mandatory.
  100% attendance in practical sessions is compulsory for eligibility to appear in the End Semester Examinations.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

  1. Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree in any discipline is required.
    Note: Candidates without a background in Psychology will need to complete an orientation course on fundamental psychological concepts before the start of the first semester.
  2. Attendance Requirements:
    • For M.Sc. Counselling Psychology, students must maintain at least 50% attendance in theory-based personal contact classes.
    • A 100% attendance record is mandatory for practical classes to be eligible for the end-semester examinations (theory and practical).

i) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / Computer Application / Networking / Cyber Forensics and Information Security / Digital Forensics and Information Security / Information Security / Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Electronics and Communication Science / Data Science / Artificial Intelligence / Criminology or Forensic Science with a Certificate or Diploma course in Computer Science from approved institutions. Any other degree where 50% of core subjects are directly related to Computer Science.

OR

ii) B.E. or B.Tech. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Electrical & Communication Engineering / Instrumentation & Electronics / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science / any other disciplines of B.E. / B.Tech where 50% of core subjects are directly related to Computer Science.

OR

iiii) Practitioners in the Government Departments of Police / Forensic Science / Defence / Judiciary or working professionals from IT industries / Banking / Telecom Industries / Corporates, working in core information technology related jobs with any Bachelor Degree and minimum three years of work experience as stated above. Original proof of experience as full time employee and salary certificates needed.
