Established in 1995, the Department of Commerce (General) at Hindustan College of Arts & Science has grown into a dynamic and thriving hub for commerce education, expanding to include three additional sections to meet increasing demand. The department is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and holistic student development by equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in today’s dynamic business landscape. The B.Com(General) program offers diverse career opportunities in commerce, business, and administration, supported by a stimulating learning environment featuring modern teaching aids, internet facilities, and a well-stocked Book Bank.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE COURSE(CERTIFICATE MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT)
In collaboration with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA, the department offers the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) program. This globally recognized certification focuses on critical areas like Financial Statement Analysis, Cost and Performance Management, Corporate Finance, and Technology & Analytics.

Holding a B.Com. degree with a minimum of 55% exempts students from foundation courses for professional qualifications. This allows direct entry into courses such as CA, CMA, CS, and CFA, accelerating career advancement.

A candidate holding a B.Com. Degree with minimum of 55% of marks is exempted from doing foundation courses. Students can directly take up professional courses such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CS (Company Secretary), and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
Tally classes on a Bi-Weekly basis are held for the students to learn the relationship between concepts and practical applicability of data. Students can pursue CMA course simultaneously with their B.Com degree.
